Our Products and The Environment

Out innovative packaging means that you don't need to store our products in the fridge or freezer. This not only saves refrigerated space in your own home, it also means that they do not need refrigeration in warehouses, delivery vehicles, or the shop shelves.

By cutting out energy use and carbon emissions in this way we are helping to reduce the environmental cost of the food we eat throughout the supply chain. If all food was packaged so as not to need refrigeration imagine the savings that would be made not just to the environment, but also directly in your pockets, as you would no longer pay for the costs of refrigeration or freezing.

Obviously, this could never be the case and we're not suggesting that our packaging could be used for many fresh and frozen products but we are doing our bit.

Recycling

The use of a single pouch for each meal also cuts down the 'extra' boxes that often accompany our food and clog up our recycling bins. Unfortunately, our pouches are not recyclable but we are working with our suppliers to investigate the potential for recyclable packs. As yet, however, we have not come up with a solution - after all, with a shelf-life of up to 12 months you wouldn't want the packs degrading in your cupboard!

On the positive side, our packs do give off a high calorific value when incinerated, and produce a lot of energy and in this way can make a further contribution even after you dispose of them.
