Meals, Wheels and The Call of the Wild
When you've spent a day in the great outdoors gulping in lungfuls of fresh air and working up an appetite, the last thing you want to do is hunker down for an hour or two round the camp fire laboriously peeling, chopping, preparing and cooking the evening meal.
Following a day that started with a riverside trail out of Nethy Bridge and involved bouncing over awkward rocks, negotiating bumpy tracks, steep inclines and rutted descents through dramatic, unspoilt Cairngorms scenery, the intrepid three reached an idyllic spot to pitch their bivouac spend the night. With the light fading and the chill descending, Andy was able to give laborious camp meal preparation a miss. No wonder he is smiling. He simply filled a camp fire pot with handy river water, dropped in three pouches of Ian Udale's Traditional Pork and Herb Sausage Casserole for a few minutes, and hey presto three healthy appetites catered for in minutes.
